Do you know where life will take you? Sometimes, it’s some pretty dark places, some hard times, some challenging moments. We need to realize there is a track. We can stay on it, get derailed, change destinations, or find a new passage. .

I have some health challenges right now, and extensive testing happening at Mayo Clinic. I’ll hopefully have some answers in the next week. I know I will overcome this bump in the road to get to where I need to be. .

My sister gave me a great tip the other day. I’m allowed to be pissed, sad, and just plain old frustrated. I am not allowed to dwell on it. I can allot a little bit of time each day for reflection on what’s happening and each day, drop that time by 5 min or more till it’s a blip. I’m trying to do just that. .

I’m not done fighting. I’m not ready to throw in the towel. I can see that answers and a solution are coming. .

So I’m hoping to do my first powerlifting meet in October. This week I have decided to test my max effort on my lifts.today I started with single rep max effort squat with only belt wrist wraps and knee sleeves, I’m used to squatting with knee wraps and hitting over 500 but knee sleeves are a bit different so today I managed to work up to 455 with knee sleeves. Here is today’s workout: 135x 10 225x8 315x5 405x1 no belt felt weird so had to do again with belt 455 x0 I psyched myself out and was didn’t hit depth before coming back up. Last set was 455 x1 this time I hit depth. Such a beautiful 5 miles with my mom @smilingdelroadrunner this evening. She’s trying to get in all of the running she can before her procedure/treatments. She is my biggest fitness inspiration!! 😍 When life gets tougher....she runs harder and farther. 💎
There’s something about country backroads, sunsets, the smell of animal poop and nasty sweat (😂) that makes this crazy life seem so peaceful for a short period of time. So thankful to live where we do and the ability to get up and move!! ♥️

Damn this is hard for me to post 😧 But I think it’s important to show a little vulnerability. -
Left was 5 years ago. I was drinking every weekend and eating whatever I wanted, because well, college 🤷🏻‍♀️ I remember feeling so bloated and sluggish! I wanted change so bad, but was stuck in the same habits. -
Right is me today. Eating a well balanced diet of mostly vegetarian. I’ll go out for drinks maybe 1 night a week in moderation. Working out anywhere between 4-6 days a week. Little bit of powerlifting, little bit of body building, and lots of crossfit metcons 🤢 -
So much has happened between these photos, mentally and physically. This is just a snapshot of what can change when you commit yourself to something. If I can do it, you can do it. Just remember... without sacrifice you’ll never have it, and without discipline you’ll never keep it. Just put your head down and work!
