Kate’s 5 favorite places:

1️⃣ Futura Gallery
“This gallery is hidden from eyes, but it contains one of the most prominent sculptures created by David Černý.
When you went through all over the gallery, you’ll find a big window which leads you to these sculptures.
The sculptures are called Brown-Nosers, and they describe problems existing in Czech politics.
Inside you’ll see a television screen that plays a video of two politicians feeding each other, accompanied by the music of Queen’s “We Are the Champions.”

2️⃣ Park Sacre Coeur
“It’s one of the most beautiful parks 🌳 in Prague 5. Here you can find playgrounds for children, places for sports, you can read a book in a silence or enjoy a wonderful view on the city.
Not everyone knows that there’s a way from this park to Nový Smíchov shopping center 🚶‍♂️”

There’s a Portheimka park, a gallery, a cafe and a wine yard/pub, that’s very popular among locals”

5️⃣ Smíchovská Náplavka
“I like Smíchov, because it’s located close to the center, just 5-10 minutes, and it has its own embankment Smíchovská Náplavka🌊.
Here you can see a lot of birds, they live here all year round.
And it’s a very beautiful place😍. Just take a look!”

Prague's tallest building, that is seen almost from every point of the city. There’s an observation point, a restaurant, and a hotel inside.

What’s your favorite place in Prague 3?

Prague districts with locals: Prague 3 with Emily @praguexplorer, a doctor and a travel blogger.

Emily’s favorite places:

1️⃣ Jiřího z Poděbrad Square. “The main building here is the Church of the Most Sacred Heart of Our Lord with the largest glazed clock in the Czech Republic.
The Square is very popular among locals. Every year a wine festival🍷 is held here. Here you can see local wineries from the Czech Republic with different kinds of wine.
The first wine called burčák 🍇 is one of our favorite. It’s made from any kind of grapes: white or red.
On a regular basis throughout a year a farmers market 🍎🧀 takes place. @trhy_na_jiraku You can visit it from Wednesday till Saturday till midday”.

2️⃣ Žižkov TV Tower
“The tower is easily reachable from Jiřího z Poděbrad metro station, about 5 minutes walking.
It’s the tallest building in the Czech Republic, more than 200 m tall 🗼. There’s a one-room hotel, a restaurant, beneath it there’s a restaurant with a mini golf and an ice rink during the winter.
The TV Tower provides you a 360-degrees view🔭. You can get up there in 38 seconds. @towerparkpraha
From the early 2000 the Crawling Babies by David Černý were installed on the building. As you can see right now they are down for restoration. But you can see 3 of the bronze babies in the park near the Kampa museum.
In Australia it was voted the second ugliest building in the whole world”.

3️⃣ Vítkov Hill
“It’s so special, because on the one side you have Žižkov, and on the other side you have Karlín district.
On the top of the hill we have the most important building about the development of Czechoslovakia: it’s the National Monument.
Under the statue of Jan Žižka there’s a tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and beneath the hill there’s a tunnel that connects Žižkov and Karlín”.
