We bought our 4 year old a kid's camera for Christmas in an effort to get him interested in something other than the iPad. I finally got him to play with it today (after the iPad died ) aaaaaand of course he figured out that there are games on it. He now only wants to play the games and is ignoring the camera function entirely.
Oh well ♀️ I'm giving myself a lot of grace lately and carefully choosing my battles with him. Am I thrilled that he's being entertained with so many screens? No, but I'm recognizing that now isn't the time to push him to do more wholesome activities. I certainly don't have the energy or mental capacity to facilitate an arts & crafts session or music lesson while dealing with newborn twins, and that's okay! So whatever dude, play with your camera and iPad and watch four episodes of Umi Zoomi in a row while I figure out how to burp two babies at once. It's cool.
But really, why the hell are there games on this camera? ♀️
