Grainy mirror on the wall, is this the best muscle tee of all ... and by muscle tee I mean deconstructed men's XL Levi's jean jacket from the flea market that I'm in the process of putting back together as a me-sized jean jacket, part of my entry for #therefashioners2018. Mostly late at night, under these indoor can lights. Thanks motorcycle-riding former jacket owner, wherever you are, for the literal sweat and tears that went into softening and in some cases bleaching this denim. Actually, let's never think too critically about that again.
I should have documented this better, but I unpicked the seams connecting the shoulders, sides, sleeves, collar, and cuffs. I kept the front panels intact (pockets and buttons and waistband and everything) in an attempt to salvage what would have been the most difficult parts to sew. I laid the pattern pieces of the #stylearcpatterns #steviejeanjacket on top of the original jacket parts and cut out new jacket parts and am mid-reassembly. There will be more, and all will attempt to channel Patti Smith ca. 1976 🎸⚡️ #sewing #refashion #recycle #upcycle #inspiredby #handmadewardrobe #processphoto
