Another beautiful "forever" keepsake from our Tassie trip--a beautiful wool travel rug from @waverleymills . I was so thrilled to receive this as a part of our prize, as it is not only a beautiful-looking blanket, but made of the highest quality Australian wool--and anyone who owns a well-made Australian wool blanket knows they last for decades, and get better with age (unlike inferior imported products). I will literally still be warming my knees with this when I'm old and grey (and it will still look like new)!! Waverley Mills is the last functioning wool mill in Australia. It was established in Launceston in 1874, and is still proudly Australian owned. They also employ ethical and sustainable practices, which is something I am very passionate about. They actually use discarded fibres, secondhand fibres and scrap pieces from the factory floor to make a range of "recycled" blankets, which are gorgeous!! What a great way to use what would otherwise be waste product! You can find that particular range at www.waverleymills.com (and also the particular baby blanket gifted to Princess Charlotte by Australia to celebrate her birth), and also find out a bit more about their practices and history.
They also have a second website, www.waverleyfactoryoutlet.com.au ...all products of the mill, but different ranges--so worth checking out both websites. They both have such a great range of products, from blankets/throws to scarves to toys. If you are looking for a truly special gift for someone, something that can be kept and used for a lifetime, something that is timeless and will be treasured, please consider purchasing from Waverley Mills. They are the last institution of their kind in Australia, with a story that deserves to continue for another 144 years. #waverleywool #waverleyfactoryoutlet #waverleywoolblanket
