HB 565, which was introduced in March, would allow criminal charges against both doctors and pregnant women seeking abortions. It would characterize an “unborn human” as a person under Ohio’s criminal code, meaning abortions could be punishable by life in prison or even the death penalty.
Question for anyone who supports this, or anything remotely similar to it: Is a fetus more important than, lets say, a 2 year old? Im going to assume your answer is no (unless it’s yes, in which case, that’s just wrong lol). If no, let’s say a 2 year old has been diagnosed with a heart condition and needs to use another human being for “life support”. Temporary, of course. A few months. And so we take a young woman off the street, someone who is an organ donor (lets say, so that we can say there was “Some” consent involved, similar to how when you want to have sex (outside of rape, of course), - let’s just say it’s compatible to that, unless someone else has a better analogy), and we hook the 2 year old child up to that woman in a hospital bed for a few months. Does the consent of that individual matter in that scenario? I mean, they did give consent. They were an organ donor (they did have sex). Why give preferential treatment to one and not the other? Hm? I'm open to any comments on whether I can improve this analogy lol #democrat #republican #america
