When you stand on stage like a " BOSS" knowing your condition is on point ! Looks easy doesnt it ? But unfortunately its far from however its not impossible for anyone ! Well at least not those who prep with me 😉 . Preps for shows is something ive been doing since 2011 as more or less a hobby because i love the sport and love even more watching some amazing people get places and knock shit out of the ball park ! I think to date 🤔🤔 ive 6 over all winners , pro winner , diamond cup winner 20 top 3s and 30 top 6s in all federations mainly ifbb so i can safely say ive proved myself as a coach !
Although credentials dont seem to matter these days its always nice to have them .
In 2011 i can name off my hand the amount of people that did shows and all of a sudden the industry boomed !! I cant keep up with the number of people hitting the stage which is great for the sport when its encouraged in the right manner , id probably be classed as an old school prep coach as far as coaches go !
Regardless of what science says i believe in fasted cardio ! I do think carb cycles work , i dont believe that once cals are in deficit top condition can be achieved , i believe gram for gram depending on what carb you take in it " MATTERS" for example and im getting very anal here ! If you have 200 cals left (50g carbs ) to meet your daily goal and the macro carbohydrate is your source what type you use depends on a two things
1- is the meal on a training day ?
2-is the meal before or after ?
If youve not weight trained or did any glycogen depleting activities the last thing you need is spiked insulin levels and racing blood sugars , so on a non training day low gi like sweet potato or oats is perfect !
If you are training and you want to eat the carbs before hand a low gi is also perfect💪💪 So the high gi carb ( coco pops , dextrose , white potato ) is perfect directly after weight training or at least within 30 mins the anabolic window if you wish ! Now your insulin levels spike at a perfect time releasing huge amounts of insulin which is the most anabolic hormone we know and what better time to have it in our blood than after the gym at a time we need nutrients in
