Push-ups are still very under rated in the fitness industry. Although the motion only occurs at the wrist, elbow and shoulder joint - it targets almost every muscle in the whole body. Your entire core (LPHC), chest, shoulders, back, traps, biceps, triceps, gluteus and quads. If you can’t do a full push-up, start with knees down, or even place your hands on a higher surface such a bench, counter or wall. Then progress to where you can incorporate unstable surface into the move by using a stability ball, med ball, BOSU or a Core-Tex.
