As we are back from our detox (with a new website!! Have you seen it? Link in bio babes ♀️♀️) we thought we’d share some facts, 20 in fact about ourselves! So here goes!
- I love being a mother but need to be me in order to be a good one!
- Why a ‘space’ about Black (British) motherhood? Because we need a space where we can talk about whatever is on our hearts and minds without having to explain ourselves or overthink what we say about our real experiences because they are not understood.
- Another one about number 2, you can’t own and shape your narrative of others tell it.
- My parents are Christian and Muslim which is a very common experience for people from Sierra Leone.
- I like to laugh, a lot, especially when it’s inappropriate.
- I’m launching a lifestyle brand for women in April it’s here @livethreesixty.
- When I was in college I wanted to be a body builder!
- My dad has a picture of me with Miss Piggy and Kermet the Frog.
- My sun sign is Cancer and if I’m honest I enjoy being a moody crab!
- After primary school and teenage years of being teased for being ‘so dark’ I had to learn to love my complexion and now love pictures where I look black and shiny.
- I was obsessed with a Neneh Cherry.
- I still love house n garage, it’s a great motivator.
- Although I’m still scared of failing I’m more scared of not trying.
- I scared of heights, terrified in fact.
- I still miss the American TV series, Girlfriends. The Tracee Ellis Ross version.
- I never found Friends amusing.
- I finally feel connected to myself, all of me including the bits that are ‘areas for development’
- I detest the notion of diversity or tolerance. For me they are limited and superficial. We are all humans, what’s to tolerate, difference is something we should work to understand not tolerate/ put up with. Diversity is tokenism let’s be inclusive.
- 40 is a fantastic age but blimey my body really needs different things now.
- It’s 7:00am and I’m cooking pasta for my daughter’s lunch because instead of doing it last night I went to the theatre with my sister!
