This quote has always stuck with me every time I read the book of Esther. I ♥️ the story, the intrigue, the drama, it plays out like a soap opera. One thing I’ve always taken away from this book is how God’s timing was perfect even though God is never mentioned in the entire book, His hand is all over it. As I’ve studied it over these last several weeks, it struck me, that while we know Esther was there for “such a time as this,” I’d failed to notice how much time she spent waiting and how from her perspective God must’ve looked completely absent. From the time Queen Vashti ignored Xerxes request all the way to Mordecai telling now Queen Esther “And who knows whether you have not attained royalty for such a time as this?” Was 10 years!!!!!! 10 years, and for something she wasn’t even praying for or aware that God would use her. It has really given me pause, and forced me to reflect on my own timeline. So often I look to God and ask....how will this ever work-out, this seems impossible, or where are You? Certain situations it can appear that God is absent, but we know He isn’t, we know He is there, and we must pray that when our “time” arrives that we too will be willing, obedient and brave enough to accept the plan that God has for us....whatever that may be.
