According to the World Food Programme, 60% of Pakistan's population faces food insecurity. This is due primarily to limited economic access by the poorest and most vulnerable, particularly women, to an adequate and diverse diet. Furthermore, 15% percent of children under 5 suffer from acute malnutrition and approximately 44% of children in the same age group are stunted, while 32 percent are underweight.
This Eid a-Adha, IDRF distributed 3kg of meat to more than 3,300 households in 50 villages in District Bhakkar, District Layya and Dera Ismail Khan. In total 10,000 kg of meat was distributed to families in need. Thank you to everyone that once again supported Qurbani in Pakistan.
In addition to religious giving, IDRF continues its work to provide access to primary education to Pakistani children and health care support to train midwives in modern birthing techniques and administer medical care to those diagnosed with a life-threatening illness.
