When you’re a student, in any subject, the history of what you’re learning should be a part of the knowledge you continue to learn today. I fell in love with DJing and even though I love spinning on records, I love learning new technology and equipment for DJing especially the new @ranedj set up we have at the school. The new #rane12 are smooth and there is a feature on the #rane72 that speeds up fader cuts. Yea it helps, but you still gotta have groove and style. That will always be my learning curve for DJing, taking what I know and learning better and taking it above standard. And since I don’t have tables (yet) I’ll do anything to learn on any equipment available to me.
One thing about DJing that is different from the past is the community that has been built at @beatjunkieios. The other videos in this post were from my Q & A that I did before I did my demo for open house. I learn from the instructors, but also the students, above and below levels, our frustrations, our anxieties, our fears and we literally help each other and lift each other up! I love my class and the support we have for each other, it’s truly priceless. I practice so much I’ve made so many friends at the school and I look forward to building a solid DJ community with my fellows.
Today is Graduation for some students and we are all going to cheer and support their accomplishments today. It’s a natural thing that has blossomed at this school. Thank you BJIOS for making my life meaningful.
