I didn’t go on social media for the weekend - excluding of course a serenade session from the one and only @michaelshlofmitz ✨👏🏼 - but damn just in those few days, it felt like I hadn’t used it in weeks. ~
There really is such a powerful addiction to social media. It’s literally our network, our community. Many of us may not be apart of a community #irl as strong communities are getting less and less due to less interest in organized religions and people relocating for better or unique opportunities.
While I wasn’t using social media for a few days, there was a sense of relaxation and also, surprisingly, loneliness. In nyc I had a very strong community of people, but since moving to Miami, I’ve only spent time with a handful of (amazing) people. I’ve been building a few strong friendships, but I’ve yet to identify myself with a community here.
I urge you to look around, and find your community. Don’t rely completely on social media to replace an actual community #irl. It can be used as a tool to meet new people, find clients and just simply aid in finding your community. But, social media can not be your only option. It was not created to replace your community. ~
So get out there, get involved, meet new people, build a community from the ground up if you have to ❤️❤️ it’s worth it ✨
