Hi 👋, My name is Chris. I'm a music producer and engineer and I own @decimalstudios
I've been producing music professionally for over twelve years. In that time I have worked on over 350 releases, from small unsigned solo artists to major label Classical Brit and Ivor Novello award winners. Music is my passion, there is nothing more satisfying than the creation of music in and out of the studio.
I first started recording music back in my final year at school. I found an old 4 track tape recorder in a cupboard in the music room and ended up recording everyone's GCSE music pieces. During school, I was in a band and I became frustrated with the recording process in the local studios. The engineers simply didn’t care enough and it showed in their productions. I felt like the engineers were holding us back so I decided to take matters into my own hands. I took a course at The Academy Of Contemporary Music and went onto get a BA(Hons) Degree in Music Technology at Thames Valley University. Armed with this I landed a job at Stakeout Studios where I was resident for 3 years. I left to start my own mobile recording company which now has permanent residence in Stakeout Studios ‘B’ Room, known as Decimal Studios.
I know what it’s like to work in the studio where the engineer lacks in skills and is more interested in their watch than the song. That's why I put absolutely everything into every single one of my productions and I put every effort into bringing the artist's creative vision to life.
Recording and creating music every day is a dream and I’m lucky enough to call it my profession. 😍
