If the demand for Horn had died down, this old Soldier wouldn't have had to spend his last year's without any of his kind, guarded 24 hours a day, and though he had built up a rapport with some of the humans who cared and protected him, it's still very sad. I feel devastated that we have let this happen, Rhinos numbers are so few compared to earlier years. I am just an ordinary Woman living in the UK with no hands on experience with Rhino, but that doesn't mean I care any less. I am passionate about Wildlife, (a few of you might have noticed) specially endangered species, financially I do what I can. Our legacy to SUDAN should be to do more, and I know I am getting boring, but would you really miss a small amount of money each month? We have to stop all species of Rhino becoming extinct. Rangers have to patrol thousands of acres to keep Wildlife safe, and are desperately in need of more boots on the ground, the latest technology to locate poachers, even the training of the 4 legged rangers, and all this costs a lot of money. Corruption, apathy, inter-agency politics, lack of leadership, co-ordination, capacity, skills or resources are just some of the bigger challenges facing those dedicated environmental crime investigators, who remain committed to disrupting and dismantling the poaching syndicates. So much is stacked up against Rhino, but in honour of an old Warrior, let's make this a battle WE WILL WIN!!
