Ahahaha reasonable logic 🤣
In a world that values the hustle it’s an act of rebellion to rest.
When things aren’t flowing, I often take that as a sign to re-evaluate. Something is off. Something isn’t aligned.
Nothing helps me see things more clearly than high quality rest.
I’ve taken a bit of a breather off social media this past week. Not posting as much and it was much needed.
Connection and rest is what my body was calling for and I’ve learned enough by now to listen when my body starts cueing me.
We put so much damn pressure on ourselves all the time and when we take a step back it’s much easier to take our power back by CHOOSING what we’re going to invest into.
When I have space to recharge I have more to give.
I don’t HAVE to post on social media I CHOOSE to, which means at any given moment I can choose differently if that’s what serves my best and highest good.
Nothing in life is static, and so the evaluation of our needs and emotional bandwidth requires some degree of flexibility.
Otherwise we’ll bury ourselves under the crushing weight of our own self-imposed, misaligned standards.
When we understand most of the pressure we put on ourselves comes from a very deep (unconscious) need for belonging we can begin to work with that need more constructively.
If you abandon your needs to prioritize another you’re always going to feel like you don’t belong (not to mention all the resentment and righteousness you’ll project onto everyone you’re not setting boundaries with). When life knocks you down, take it as a chance to reprioritize the connection with YOU.
Rest, so you can connect.
Connect with you so you can powerfully connect with others.
Fuck every standard you impose on yourself and take ownership over your choices.
Knowing you’re choosing something feels A LOT more powerful because it honours your free will to choose differently if you want a different result.
So if you’re down, rest, nourish and consider “what is it my soul truly calling for” and be brave enough to give it to yourself.
It sets the tone for a new relationship with your truth. And that’s a really good place to start.
