Classes are for all levels: beginners, injuries, relaxation, pregnancy, intermediates etc. There will be much self seeking and centering intentions. We will focus on safe alignment, understanding the power of the breath, learn about the ethics of yoga, gently build strength and balance, return to space in our bodies and expand our minds. We will calm our nervous systems so that we can hear our intuition and allow healing and rebalancing to take place. $15 or bring a friend for $10 each.

My life is a thousand miles per hour lately — all for really good reasons, but still.

People laugh when there hear me describe my personal yoga practice — a lot of meditation and 15 minutes here and there throughout the day just rolling around on the floor. In other words, my physical yoga practice is suuuuuper mellow.

When people look at me, they’re usually surprised when they find out that my classes are not “hard core”, fast moving, or particularly sweaty. It’s true, I get my physical exercise and workouts from everything but yoga.

For me, yoga is a compliment to the rest of my life. As my life gets faster and more chaotic, my yoga gets slower and far more simple.

Because let’s be real, between CrossFit, running, and sitting at my desk to write, I repeat the same motions/positions over and over — typically a recipe for injury. However, I credit a little daily mobility work while focusing on my breath for keeping me injury-free for nearly four years ... cuz lord knows I’ve done plenty over those years to wear my body out otherwise.

And this is the reason why I created my own brand of online yoga videos called Yoga for Durability on Vimeo. Because while yoga hasn’t been a tool that I’ve used to condition or strengthen my body to get to the level I’m at today, it certainly has played a huge role in why my body is able to withstand the rigors of training and helped me build a more durable body.

ÉNERGIE! ☄️ Je profite de cette période pour travailler mon "core" et pratiquer des postures plus exigeantes.🤸‍♀️ Même si elle me faisait vraiment peur au début, j'adore cette variation de la posture sur la tête #sirsasana. J'ai eu très mal dans le cou ces derniers mois donc la posture traditionnelle était trop risquée pour moi. Ici (une fois installée✌️🙈), on a droit à une superbe décompression cervicale et un bon massage des trapèzes. Je ne vous conseille pas d'essayer ça toute seule les premières fois, c'est quand même pas évident le set-up de chaises! Il faut aussi être bien échauffée, activer son centre et bien presser dans les mains. I know that I experience everything through my history and mood which changes the filter on what I see. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

An influencer uses their page like some sort of catalogue to sell stuff #ad / #notanad, someone is always travelling #wanderlust, someone is always being invited to cool events #livingmybestlife... why is this creating feelings of inadequacy? These feelings are symptoms what is the cause? How does this apply to your life? Are you living on autopilot insta responding to life with out thinking about where your response comes from? So many questions for a Friday but, asking myself these questions in safe environments with supportive tools transformed my thought processes. This introspection gave me the power (She-Ra vibes) to own my stuff/ myself, become more discerning and learn when to mind my own business (work in progress).

We live in a society which favors a dynamic fast-paced life, where being 'on' 24/7 is a matter of great pride. As a result, we are constantly pushing ourselves to our limits both physically and mentally. We are increasingly becoming disconnected from our bodies and are learning to suppress our emotions so we can 'keep going.' To make it worse, we make very little time to build our pranic reserves although we deplete them at epic rates on a daily basis.

The elephant serves as a symbol of calm and tranquility, patience and strength, they could easily be destructive if they wanted to be but that is not their nature. They have a quiet confidence and strength about them, and while they could dominate, they prefer to be peaceful and calm. In Buddhism the elephant symbolises mental strength. When we first begin our practice of stillness, the uncontrolled mind is represented by a grey elephant 🐘, one that can easily run wild, destroying all in its path. As we continue the practice of stilling the mind and become proficient at it, the mind is then represented by a white elephant, strong, powerful with a deep wisdom.... removing all obstacles in its path. This restorative yoga pose feels so good by stretching and opening the upper back and shoulders. Without realizing, a lot of us have postures throughout the day where we are hunched over. This allows the pectoral muscles to open up by placing a block on its middle level under the spine at the scapulas and placing another block at its lowest level to support the head.
