“ Remember those earlier days after you had received the light, when you endured in a great conflict full of suffering. Sometimes you were publicly exposed to insult and persecution; at other times you stood side by side with those who were so treated. You suffered along with those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property, because you knew that you yourselves had better and lasting possessions. So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded.
You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.
“In just a little while,
he who is coming will come and will not delay. “And,
“But my righteous one will live by faith.
And I take no pleasure
in the one who shrinks back.
“But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved.” - Hebrews 10:32-39 NIV **************************************Lets face it, after being saved (born again), developing a relationship and walk with Jesus is far from simple. If it were, then far more people would be devoting their lives fully to the call of God. Christianity however, is the only religion that requires full surrender and constant sacrifice. It’s not about spreading enough “Good” karma in order to diminish all the bad, nor is it about reaching enlightenment, strictly for our own personal gain. For Jesus has already paid the ultimate price for ALL our sins. Even if we participated in kind acts every single day, our actions could literally never make up for the sacrifice Christ endured. Nevertheless, we are asked to give up our own lives by becoming disciples of Christ. We surrender our time, money, possessions, and hearts solely to God, who has given us life. And despite the beginning of our fellowship being full of joy, excitement, and growth, soon after comes hardship, discouragement, and persecution from others; particularly non believers. The struggle occurs once the devil realizes we are now in the hands of God. He will use as many tactics as he can to throw us off track and keep us trapped within our past mistakes.(CONTINUE BELOW)
