Port Macquarie has the largest Koala population on the East Coast but sadly they're still a threatened species in many parts of the country.
The annual Hello Koalas Festival on the 7th-11th June focuses much-needed attention on the care of our countries "cuddly" critters through fun jampacked activities.
There's something for everyone, from koala sculptures, art workshops, parades, games and even a Hello Koalas High Tea at Rydges complete with koala cookies!
Whether you're a kid, big kid, animal lover or tourist, do something fun, authentic and worthwhile this June long weekend!
It's the start of the whale watching season people! And where better to catch a glimpse than Port Macquarie?
Plan a little getaway and try your luck. Don't forget to book your affordable accommodation at our equally amazing pubs- The Settlers Inn or The Port Macquarie Hotel. Choice is yours!
Interesting as I grew up in Toongabbie NSW as well..... Hamilton Hume (1797-1873) was born at Toongabbie, near Parramatta on 19 June, 1797. Hume was a superior bushman and prominent Australian explorer. He led the first Europeans to the Yass plains in 1821. Hume was a leader in The Hume and Hovell expedition, Lake George to Melbourne in 1824 and occupied the land grant of Yass in 1828. #Roadtripnsw #myofficeviewfortheday #nsw#australia#weatherzone@dailybailey10
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself as an after thought. Eat the delicious food. Walk in the sunshine. Jump in the ocean. Say the truth that you are carrying in your heart like a hidden treasure. BE SILLY. BE KIND. BE WEIRD. There's no time for anything else. #CarpeDiem
