The map led us down a dirt road which disappeared into a wide river. With no sign of the trail on the bank opposite of us, we decided to search for another way to reach the next town. A couple of locals pointed us toward a hill and said there would be a flat road at the top that would lead straight to the trail we were supposed to be on. Well that flat road turned out to be locked behind a gate protecting the dam we were now standing atop of. The sight of the trail taunted us from behind the bars. Despite having to continue our search for a new route, we were wonderfully rewarded for our climb up the dam with this view of the mountains we had been traveling through.
