Last night I woke to lots of noise from the wind and questioned whether it would be safe/OK to go for a #trailrun this morning around Studley Park. Having grown up in the country I know how common it is for gum trees to drop their limbs after rain and wind.
Thankfully the weather improved and so my running pals and I went for a cruise along the Yarra River this morning.
As new comers to trail running we got a bit lost, which shaved 2.5kms off our planned route, but we still enjoyed the 7.5km loop from Kane’s Bridge.
We met lots of lovely fellow runners along the way who looked out for us (we must have looked like newbies), ran past the colony, along narrow river paths, into restricted areas (whoops), over bridges and even past a dead fox.
I road tested the off road trail running gear from @aussiegritapparel today as well. I can confirm that it’s definitely snag-proof and super comfy. I love the hidden pocket in the short’s liner that can hold my phone - such a neat idea! They really did think of everything. You can read more about this new start-up via the link in my bio.
