After an excursion to a museum, @ulianna_donskaya and I went to a cafe. Don’t get me wrong, we don’t hang out with each other for the whole day long. But we do have fun so that we could learn naturally and productively. For example, today we spoke with each other in 4 languages: English, Spanish, German, and a bit in Russian. Even though people in the cafe were frustrated hearing our outrageous dialogues, we felt just happy. This is because we didn’t have to waste hours and hours on memorizing eternal lists of words and filling out blanks in grammar books. Instead, we got to be creative to express ourselves the way both of us understand. To make it clear, I’ve never studied Spanish, whereas Uliana has never studied German. So, we were REALLY creative explaining our thoughts as clear as possible. And it worked! What I realized is, it doesn’t really matter who we talk to in a target language(s) as long as we provoke ourselves to use vocabulary according to a situation and have fun 😜
What was the biggest number of languages you used with someone in a conversation at the same time?
