i imagined myself having fun at the beach, island hopping and snorkeling in the clear blue water.. enjoying the calm soothing sound of the waves, away from hustle bustle of the city.. well it remained as my imagination
before coming to the philippines, i surfed for info on google, read the lonely planet book and travellers' blogs about their beautiful islands.
after so much considerations, we decided to explore puerto galera.
the travel time from manila is only 4 hours (2 hours bus ride + 2 hours on boat)
so this is doable, we will reach the destination with ease, i told myself.
we went to the bus terminal one day earlier in hopes to buy tickets in advance.
but no. they told us to just come tomorrow and buy the ticket when boarding the bus. (you have no idea how much time we wasted that day - we went to the wrong place, we gave the grab driver the wrong pick up location, another grab driver cancelled our booking because he couldnt find us.. oh my)
so came the next day, we reached JAC bus liner station at about 9:00am and looked for bus bound for batangas pier. "get into the queue pls", the bus operator said.
what queue, clueless we were. ok.. the line for the bus was snake-like it was sooo long we waited for about 1 hour before finally get on the bus!
our bus arrived at batangas pier at 12:30pm, so
we still can make it.. we will watch the sunset at the beach i lied to myself.
but the only thing that we didnt take into consideration was the size of crowd thats going to the same destination.
it. was. bloody. crazy.
batangas pier was flooded with people i just couldnt believe my eyes. tickets to sabang beach were all sold out!
the only way to get to sabang beach was going to white beach, then take tricycle to sabang. we finally managed to grab the 4:30pm boat which means - we just sending ourselves to sleep in the island
we finally reached sabang beach at 8:30pm.
total travel time = almost 12 damn hrs.
i told my sister to wake up earliest possible to get the earliest boat out from sabang, worried that we couldnt get back to manila in time to watch the ice hockey final game.
