Whew, we made it! Every month I’m the host of @cm_sacramento where we invite the local community to hob-knob and get inspired by a speaker. Today marked our 20th consecutive month and I’ve been in bed since 5pm .
I was thinking back to the first few events and how freaking nervous I was to stand in front of 100 people and make introductions for 15m. Like shaky voice, losing my breath, not being able to sleep the night before. Now I literally don’t bat an eye at the thought and our audience size has doubled. Even when I get up there and realize I’m missing important information, say something stupid or we have technical glitches i can roll with it. Dare I say i look forward to it!? It’s such a jolt of human energy that you get from the crowd. It’s fascinating to have experienced this and I’ll tell you it probably took 10-12 times of forcing myself to just get up there, hold the mic and do it.
Not really sure my point because I’m basically brain dead after events, but I know there’s a life lesson in there somewhere. TGIF friends! And if you’re in other cities look for a local @creativemorning chapter!
