So I went for a wedding and I wore a saree 🥰 I've legit dressed up in something other than shorts/jeans after more than 6 months. I literally own 2 dresses that can be worn in functions. Of which one didn't fit me coz I've gained some weight in the past few months. The other one JUST fitted me, but I didn't wanna wear something where I had trouble breathing in🤣🤣 So ended up wearing a saree and I'm Ngl I look like a SNACC 🥰🥰 I should wear this more often but let's face it we all know I'm not gonna do that LMAO! I'm wearing a saree after almost 3 yrs and it's the 3rd time in my LIFE!!! This ain't happening anytime soon 😅

Do you remember when you would stealthily walk to the (rarely left) open almirah, look around to check if mother is not looking.. and touch her sarees? The banarasi, the kanjivaram.. the cottons and the silks? They werent just sarees- they were the glimpse of adulthood, of feminity, and surrounded the enigma that we call "Ma". Red is the very essence of that feeling. The red saree, the red bindi, the red sindoor, the red alta.. everything that takes us back to the days when all we needed to feel safe was her aanchal held tight in the palm of our tiny hand.
