Going back to my power lifting days for a month or so. Left the sound on, if you turn it on you will notice I still control my air like I lift over 300lb, although we are waaay off that once max number. But hey! I can climb now so yay to that!
Its been a looooong time since my butt has seen a squat rack and I am feeling it today.
The posture is still there, idd say more ass to grass though, what do you guys think?
Such a solid day at Echo with @alpine.dreams .Gave Where the Wild Things Are a shot. Great first two pitches! No issues onsitting pitch one, pitch two took a little figuring out, also super doable. Hope next week we can give the final 12a pitch a good chance.
Multi is a very different head space from single pitch. Nice to be a fish out of water from time to time.
This bottle is the newest member of my kit. @sattvaclimbing has been working on this formula for a long time, and it shows. If you have issues keeping your hands dry like I do, you have to try it.
Ask me about it when you see me around. Im happy to let you try it out!
Had a great time at speed provincials last weekend. Did not have my best runs but still managed to get 1st in Youth A and 2nd in Open. Big congrats to @ivanluoo for becoming a Canadian citizen and coming winning the comp.
Happy to have put down this beast of a boulder, Channel Incision V11. This was a long fight with countless dry fires and some creative beta. The first time I stuck the compression move (the crux for me) I knew I had to bear down and finish it off. : @_emilyherdic_
It been a long route season. The mental challenges i carried this year were heavy, but with the help of so many supportive people the load is getting lighter and lighter.
For the first time in a long time my nurves were not running me and it felt amazing.
The folks @ualbertaclimbing put on an amazing comp! Routes where incredible, atmosphere was electric, and @calgaryclimbing teams crushed. Amazing weekend all around.
Thank you to everyone that has given me advice in the last few month. Every one of you made a huge difference in my climbing.
Looking forward to the first speed comp of 2018 next weekend at @bouldersclimb. Got a new PB today in training of 8.60 hoping to go even faster at the comp. : @murdochshane from Youth Worlds in Innsbruck, with @dohikei.
Went up to flagstaff on Sunday with @_emilyherdic_ and @zach_arenberg and finally ticked this boulder. Valhalla was the first climb I tried outside. I remember not being able to pull off the ground and thinking “how could someone climb this?” It’s cool to go back three years later and send it first try if the day. : @zach_arenberg
I wasn’t going to try this V9, as its not my style and I find roofs to be pretty intimidating . I got asked if I wanted to work on it and I agreed thinking I would flail around on it. I was pleasantly surprised when it came together in about 3 session. Thanks @rsjwong for asking me to try it! The beta is to roll up the pants for the knee bar!
It been a hot min since I posted something. After the comp @calgaryclimbing Stronghold the focus has been hard on training. Mental and physical. Its amazing to have such a big community to reach out to when you need advice.
The bending is coming along to a regular person I may start to look flexible!
Off to Canmore Saturday!
