Spent a little extra time this morning doing my monthly breast health self exam.
After my health battle this year, I'm reminded to know my body and to listen to it, because ultimately, no one can ever be a bigger champion for me than ME! For black women being in touch with our bodies and staunch advocates for our healthcare is even more critical. Across the country, we face a lower quality of care and disproportionately higher death rates for treatable diseases. If we aren't vigilant, we die (period). Personally, I have way too much stuff to accomplish to clock out anytime soon, so I'm going to do everything in my power to ensure my health for years to come. That includes keeping an eye out for changes in my body.
So, in the spirit of knowing and caring for my body, I'm feeling myself up! Well, at least my boobs. Here's my #SelfExamGram. I encourage you to spend some time today doing your own self exam, and commit to doing so once every month (or more 🤷🏾♀️). Check the link in my story for instructions on how to do yours.
Share your #selfexamgram pics today and spread the word. It's time check your boobs, ladies!
