We had such a fantastic day of adoptions up at our Arlington Sanctuary with SIX special needs kitties going home with wonderful families!
Among the lucky kitties were twelve year old sisters Ruby and Lily. The girls had been adopted from Purrfect Pals twice but returned both times. They first came to Purrfect Pals in May 2016 after their lifelong owners of nine years had a baby, and felt the girls needed more attention. They were adopted in 2016 but the resident cats in that home wouldn’t accept them so Ruby and Lily came back to us three months later. Adopted again, they were returned to Purrfect Pals a second time because they developed medical issues and their owners couldn’t afford their care.
The girls have inflammatory bowel disease, which is managed with a prescription diet. They both also have stomatitis, which required surgical extraction of multiple teeth and ongoing monthly injections.
Today, a lovely couple came in looking for a pair of cuddly kitties and were sold when they saw what shoulder cats Ruby and Lily are. Seeing them go home was bittersweet but we are so happy they will spend the holidays in a real home!
