The Amphitheater of Pompeii. ———————————————————————————
The oldest Roman amphitheater still in existence, it was buried with the rest of Pompeii in 79 AD with the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius. •
In 1971, Pink Floyd made a concert film called Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii. However, there was no audience aside from the film crew.
It wasn’t until 2016, when the guitarist from Pink Floyd, David Gilmour, played two concerts there as a part of his Rattle that Lock Tour that the Amphitheater had a public performance with an audience since it was first buried.
