up until i was 20 years old i grew up scorpio-style HATING anything that resembled partying. i hated alcohol, drugs(for sure including cannabis) & even music at times. this was a deep wound from childhood that was triggered often, and difficult to navigate through all school ages. to make a long story shorter, the triggers began to “subside” when i replaced feeling triggered with drinking instead. “if you can’t beat em, join em”.
then in college it turned into heavy drinking(thanks pluto addictiveness). i would fill up a water bottle with crown royal and no mixer, drink the whole thing warm. i would tally my arm with how many shots i could take. 11 was the number. but i digress. i was a heavy drinker that did in fact listen to music, but STILL hypocritically believed weed was for losers(actually i would use way worse derogatory words thx again pluto opp mercury).
eventually, i split a weed brownie with my friend @stephderrr, way too much weed for newbies, so we just pass out watching king of the hill(and not liking KOTH at all but when i wake up i do like it). that was my first enjoyable experience with cannabis, before that i tried smoking a couple times on and off, and it never did anything for me.
however, the universe supplied me w cannabis when it was time for me to utilize it. once i graduated college and moved in with John, our lives slowly began changing, and cannabis saved my life during all those changes, many changes of which are still coming. cannabis taught me how to get out of my head, how to observe myself, how to breathe, how to sit in discomfort.
i’ve noticed in my experiences that people who strongly detest cannabis, like younger me, often have it associated with a different issue altogether. whether it’s associating it with bad experiences/people, misdiagnosing it(thinking it’s weed when it’s something else), or just having “weed is bad” drilled into your brain as a kid... that shit is hard to shake. —
so i tip my fedora to those of you who are open minded about cannabis for others but know it’s not for you. respect either wayi know that mary jane comes to those who need its medicine when the time is right. like it did for me
