I would like to first start off by saying thank you @saheedake to you and your partner for helping me settle into Sydney 🇦🇺. Thank you @solo__nero for introducing me to a humble and strong warrior. @saheedake you’ve truly helped me push my boundaries in the early stages of my training in 🇦🇺. Coming back to the place where we trained early on our weighted training, it was great to recap and push ourselves once more. Just like you say ‘this is training’, I’ve learnt to only look forward and grow mind, body and spirit 📈. We’ll train once more before ✈️ out to London akhi.

Holy chit! Its been awhile since I posted a video of anything! But here is a bit of my legs day! Vid one is squats. This was my set of 3×315 from a pyramid workout. Vid 2 is box squats with the 12" box. 5x12. These were killer! Focused on the squeeze of the glutes on top of the lift. Was a great leg day though!

The Case for Building Muscle: Just wrapped our FLF VIP June Coaching Call about a topic I can’t get enough of because I’ve see what it can do for a woman’s confidence and health: Building muscle.

For the months of June and July, our FLF VIPs are eating and training to increase strength and muscle mass. No boot camp classes. No aerobics. No running (except sprints!) Just good old fashioned weight lifting with heavy barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells, and our own body weight. Gettin’ those #SetsAndReps baby!

Ladies, if you are frustrated with a lack of results, CARDIO IS NOT THE ANSWER. Like ever. 😂One of our VIP clients said her girlfriends are asking her what’s she’s doing because her legs are (her words) “cut up.” 🤣🤣 She’s doing our Trifecta workouts and walking. That’s it. And it’s working. She’s off the hamster wheel of cardio and eating *more* to fuel her body, and her body is changing faster than ever.

No cardio for this girl either except for one 30-minute HIIT workout a week. Lifting weights 4-5x a week and eating 2100+ calories per day is doing some crazy 💩to my confidence and strength and I love watching my clients experience this transformation, too.

1. Walk to the bar. Stand with your mid-foot under the bar. Your shins shouldn’t touch it yet. Put your heels hip-width apart, narrower than on Squats. Point your toes out 15°. 2. Grab the bar. Bend over without bending your legs. Grip the bar narrow, about shoulder-width apart like on the Overhead Press. Your arms must be vertical when looking from the front.

3. Bend your knees. Drop into position by bending your knees until your shins touch the bar. Do NOT let the bar move away from your mid-foot. If it moves, start from scratch with step one.

4. Lift your chest. Straighten your back by raising you chest. Do not change your position – keep the bar over your mid-foot, your shins against the bar, and your hips where they are.

5. Pull. Take a big breath, hold it and stand up with the weight. Keep the bar in contact with your legs while you pull. Don’t shrug or lean back at the top. Lock your hips and knees.

If one of your body parts isn’t growing, you’re not alone.
We all suffer from this, even though we don’t like to admit it. For some people it’s their calves, others, it’s their arms. For me, it’s been my chest.

Luckily, if you train this muscle group correctly, you can turn your worst body part into your best one.

It just takes a little bit of science and a lot of dedication and hard work. But it works.

The biggest reason you have a stubborn body part is probably that you cannot feel it working. You need to ignite that mind-to-muscle connection and feel that muscle working. This takes time and practice, but it's the most important thing you can do.

After that, start training it more frequently. Train it 3-6 times per week. Is this a lot? Yes, but you want it to grow, don't you? What you've been currently doing obviously isn't working, so it's time to try something drastic.

Lastly, you'll need to prioritize training this muscle FIRST in your workout. This is when you're fresh and can put the maximum amount of energy into training it.

💉And juiced up bros will tell you, you must squeeze out every rep each set or else you’re just wasting your time.

👍🏽Just like everything else in fitness, the true answer is somewhere in the middle. In other words, it depends my friends.

💪🏾Training to failure is not a good idea if you do it excessively, form is compensated, recovery is poor, or done with risky exercises.

👉🏽BUT that doesn’t mean training to failure is absolutely bad all the time.

💪🏾Training to failure can be a great way to build more strength and muscle if done correctly.

💪🏾If you plan on training to failure, make sure to program them wisely, never sacrifice form, and choose less risky exercises most of the time.

Total Time: 3m
Yield: 10-12 bars

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups quick or rolled oats (120g)
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup peanut butter (or Sunbutter for nut-free)
1/2 cup raw agave or honey
2/3 cup protein powder - have fun with different flavors (70g)
handful mini chocolate chips(optional)

Instructions:
Stir all ingredients together until well-mixed. Transfer the mixture to a 9×14 pan lined with parchment or wax paper. (For thicker bars than the ones shown, you can use an 8×8 pan.) Place another sheet of parchment or wax over the top and continue to smush down and spread until it fills the bottom of the pan. Freeze until hard, then cut into bars. For optimum freshness, store leftover bars in the freezer for up to a month.
