Sooo I got to meet M's boyfriend for the first time and since he's vegetarian and likes spicy food, I suggested going to @thetree.berlin 😁
They specialize in Chinese dishes with spices from the Sichuan region and make their own noodles! They also offer a variety of vegetarian and vegan dishes.
We ordered two starters: "Calendula", potato slices with broccoli, red chili, spring onion and sesame and "Moos", spinache, pomegranate seeds with sesame peanut paste and walnut. "Calendula" was amazing! The potato slices were so crunchy, we were wondering if they were cooked or raw, but that's not what made this starter so amazing. It was the red chili oil 😍 it had a bit of spiciness to it and some other flavors I can't describe but it was incredibly good! My friends said it got progressively more spicy tho but I didn't feel much of that 😂 "Moos" was good with the sesame peanut paste. You didn't have a huge amount of it on the spinache but when eating, the flavor was very rich and you could feel the thick consistency of the paste. It was fascinating 🤔 but it couldn't compare against the potato slices with chili oil in my opinion!
As main dishes we got two "Ramat" with fried egg, tomatoes, enoki mushrooms, red beet, carrot, salad, radish, spring onion, coriander, garlic, peanuts and sesame and one spicy and vegan "Kapok" with the same veggies but sesame peanut paste and avocado instead of the fried egg and tomatoes. The noodles!!! Gosh, the noodles! 💖 The dishes didn't look like much but when we all took our first bite from the slightly warm noodles it blew our minds, we were like "Oh wow, those noodles" at the same time 😍😂 they were thick and had a nice texture, but what made them special was their taste! I'm bad at describing, so you better try it for yourselves! The variety of veggies was huge and they were all very fresh and complimented the noodles really well!
I think we all had our doubts about this place at first, since they seated the three of us (one was a 1,90m guy) at a super small table in the corner. I think the table measured only 40x50 cm 😅 but that didn't bothers us after the amazing food came out 😁
