I had an amazing morning! This beautiful creature sat with me for about 45 minutes as I kept taking his picture. I was about 150' away from him as he dozed off and on, then something would get his attention and he'd disappear into the tall grass for a bit and then come back out to check me out.
Eventually, he slowly walked back down the trail away from me and looked back a couple of times to see if I was following. In the below image, look above the bobcat's shoulders and you'll see a dragonfly that keep buzzing around his head. He swatted at it a couple of times but unfortunately, I missed that shot.
This was a new bobcat for me as I've never seen one out in the Savannah National Wildlife Refuge with a missing ear but then again, these beautiful creatures are quite elusive. Best time to catch a glimpse is early morning or late afternoon.
