Last wash I used a CG friendly clarifier and it just didn’t get it done. My hair was frizzy, heavy, and yellowing. So, it was time to pull out the bIg guns and use a sulfate. It’s been a while... August 17th to be exact (when I had accidentally used a silicone). So, I wanted to take advantage of having access to my naked hair to give it some real TLC.
Once I cleaned off all the buildup with the sulfate shampoo, I used the quicksilver to draw out the yellow that had crept under my cuticle. Then, with my hair completely clean, I went to work rebuilding from the ground up... I repaired the hydrogen bonds, added moisture, gave it a little hit of protein and closed the cuticle, prepared it for stylers, and styled.
Boy, did it pay off! 💣💥〰️😍
My hair is white and soft and light and wavy. It feels nice and balanced. My hair needed every step. I’m definitely glad that I don’t have to do that often because - - whew! - - it took a minute (see time below). I did manage to shorten my dry time by using a very light gel & a mousse and micro-plopping throughly... so there’s that.
See the images above for what I used and why. This is how long it took:
➤ 0:20 Wash (and shower)
➤ 1:00 Whiten (longer than usual)
➤ 0:40 Wash & Olaplex No. 3
➤ 0:35 Wash & Deep Condition
➤ 0:10 Rinse & Condition
➤ 0:15 Cold Rinse, Stylers & plop
➤ 0:20 Dry & SOTC
➤ 3:20 Total time
