Starting a busy week with a little SLOW DOWN. My favorite itty-bitty-baby-self-care ⠀
-act is to wake up on a cold winter morning, get out of bed, and immediately lay back down on the couch under a blanket with a heating pad. Why? Cause I’m freaking freezing and mornings are the worst! But also, because this signals to me that there is time for a few minutes of rest, warmth, and self-love, even on this busiest of days.⠀
......⠀ So often, our thinking is extremely BLACK & WHITE about self-care, wellness, slowing down: I must meditate an hour a day, I must do yoga eight times a week, I must get nine hours of sleep, I must make time to do nothing because that’s when I’m most creative, I must, I must, I MUST!⠀
If we set the price of self-care too high, we will always find an excuse not to pay. Set the price LOW. A minute of deep breathing, a five minute phone call to your bestie, two minutes of staring out the window day dreaming, a new book. ⠀
