Start a chillax weekend with self-whisked #matcha drink and beautiful #wagashi
I have been practicing my matcha whisking skill the past few weeks, and even though it isn’t perfect yet, I think I’m getting there. And it’s quite a new but enjoyable experience to know how the matcha powder from #tsujiriheihonten tastes, at home. Previously, I only tried at their tea house/temporary shop. Each experience has its own merits, but now I know for sure I could splurge a bit more on their matcha powder during the next fair/visit.
For the wagashi, I’ve got these two from #kourindou, currently selling in #takashimayasg. I wasn’t a big fan of this Japanese confectionery previously due to the high level of sweetness. But after having them with matcha today (which wagashi is always paired with usually), I kinda understand the appeal. The subtle bitterness of matcha was enhanced nicely by the flavors and texture of the wagashi. Between the two, surprisingly I like the strawberry wagashi, which was shaped into a pretty #sakura bud, more than the green tea flavored sweet, which looks like a refreshing green leaf. There’s a orange flavored wagashi at the shop, should I try?
