Photo by Aaron Huey @argonautphoto | Sometimes you plan a whole trip around one idea, one image. I knew I wanted to get to THIS place: the precarious camp 2 on #AmaDablam. I knew I wanted this shot, and even though I'm not a mountaineer, I climbed up to 21,000 feet to get it. In this image you can see Danuru Sherpa coiling ropes that will be used to make the safety lines for commercial expeditions to the summit of this epic peak. Only four to five tents can fit at camp 2, and they all tilt. Above this spot, there is no space for a real camp and too much danger of an avalanche. Follow @argonautphoto for more dramatic mountain photos and #Sherpa life. #Khumbu #Nepal

Photo by Muhammed Muheisen @mmuheisen | Last May I spent time on the world’s only floating animal sanctuary while on assignment for @natgeo in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. De Poezenboot, Dutch for “the catboat” hosts around 50 stray and abandoned cats, 17 of which are permanent residents that have lived on the boat for several years. Day after day, you become part of their environment; you're just another big cat to them. #ad: Did you know cute dog photos can also help others? @googlelocalguides share them on Google Maps to let you know when a place is dog-friendly, like this shot captured at the two-mile-long North Beach in Del Mar, California by Local Guide @uchi_desi. #letsguide
