❓ How important is it to alternate skeins of hand dyed yarn? Like all things in fibre arts, "it depends." 😵 🎃Halloween Farts has a regular repeat of colour, which means you could have fun with math 📏 and work out interesting pooling patterns. The random diagonal pooling on the bottom half of this swatch worked up this way because of my needle size and number of stitches (3.5mm and 40st). The upper half of the swatch is where I alternated rows.✂ Instead of taking from two separate skeins, I just altenated from the outside to the inside of the yarn cake 🍰 If I was making socks, I might really want the colour to pool up, But since I'll be using this for a sweater, alternating will give me the random 🎲 colour placement I'm going for.
In the end, it's always best to swatch for yourself in the needle size appropriate to your own project!
