Are your kids active?
More and more often these days i see kids with heads buried in iPads when the weather is beautiful outside.
When we are adults, we make our own choices. If we decide that Netflix is more important than getting exercise, then we have to fully accept the consequences of that choice.
If you have a bit more body fat than you would like and you are all about that nugget life, you can probably connect the dots where you are going wrong.
Never ever will you catch me telling you how to live your life, I will make suggestions and i will educate you sure, but if you’re happy, I’m happy. Eat nuggets and send me selfies of you eating nuggets, it’s all good.
But kids don’t have the maturity to make their own choices. That’s why they have guardians. That’s why they aren’t supposed to get pissed until they are 18 and you probably shouldn’t let them make their own food choices.
So if you have kids and they are a bit fat, i’m probably going to say something you won’t like. It’s your fault.
And while i will never judge anyone that is an adult and a bit chubby, if you have really fat kids, I’ll probably judge you a bit.
Raise your kids however you like, but the choices you make for them will shape their attitudes on their health and fitness for the rest of their lives.
Now some kids don’t like exercise. That can be true.
The trick here is to keep changing the ‘types’ of exercise until you find something that fits. And the best way to get through to a kid is by making something fun.
Now that I’ve finished my rant I’ll get to my point.
I’ve never seen a kid go through a kids obstacle course and not love it, if you are thinking about getting your kids off the iPads for the day and you are in the Brisbane area, look at taking them through the True Grit kids course at Mt Tambourine on August 17.
Open to kids aged 4 - 12, you will take them through the course and see what they are made of!
I will unfortunately miss this one as i will be in Hawaii for another race! But if you want some more info on what’s involved, send me a message ;)
