I have had the pleasure to be the art teacher at the Green Scholars Summer School in Millwoods (Edmonton, AB) this July - punjabi language, cultural dance and arts (first year for arts) In addition to enjoying getting to know the group of kiddos in the class and they inspiring me as much them, it has been a delight to have my oldest son Rowan attend with me. He has made great new friends and has commented how much fun a teacher his mom is, that he is amazed at the art skills he us discovering he has.
Yesterday was also a fun son and mom 'play with the universe' day... as we drove to afternoon class Rowan and I chatted about his budding skills and he was mentioning his perception of the ability to do photo realistic art as the qualifier of an artist. I started chatting with him of varying artists styles, and Jackson Pollock came to mind to tell him of pieces of work that were layers and layers of splattered paint. When getting to class the other boy in this video with my son was excited of a new canvas paint idea for the day - amazing! his Jackson Pollock style batman is what he had in mind ;) (tonight is also Batman Poetry night at the local Crepe & Shake)
this is my #ContestEntry for Shoppers Drug Mart #PayConfidenceForward
I am wanting to continue to inspire my oldest son with his amazing diplomatic inclusive perspective and social circle to find their style of art and expression #createandinspire
