First photo was October 2017 when I was trying to bulk for the first time and sat at around 54kg. Second photo is me currently after 13 weeks of bulking.
👉🏼Current shape update: Fluctuating between 56-57kg (was 49kg average at the end of prep, 48kg on show day). .
👉🏼 My main focus over the last 13 week has been to up calories and build back the muscle I had lost throughout prep and some, especially quads, so hopefully some of the weight will be that. 🤞🏽 .
👉🏼 My next step now over the next 4-5 weeks is a mini cut (“damage control” 😂) to lose some of the fluff while maintaining the muscle before another shorter bulk. .
In terms of the weight gain.. it was a huge mind game and took weeks to come to terms with. I knew I would gain the weight back (because stage lean is unsustainable, tiring and means you have a limited social life) and knew I would have to gain a little more weight to grow muscle.
However, whilst I feel uncomfortable now I’m a lot happier, stronger and have been able to enjoy my food (maybe a little too much lol) and I’m not worried because I know that in a few months I’ll be leaner than ever and hopefully more muscular 🤞🏽 All in all, to progress you need to push out of your comfort zone 🙌🏼 .
