BREAKING. The Giants and Buccaneers have completed a trade that will send long time pass rusher Jason Pierre-Paul and a 2018 Fourth Round selection to Tampa Bay in return for a 2018 Third Round, and Fourth Round selection from the Bucs.
With this, Tampa bulks up their D with a proven veteran in JPP and finally addresses their huge need at pass rusher. Although, they do have to swallow his huge cap-hit of $11M+.
For New York, this trade is awesome. First of all, they shed off JPP’s massive contract that’s been hurting them all around cap-wise. Second of all, he does not fit into their new 3-4 scheme and also is declining as he hits the wrong side of 30. This could also mean that the Giants will seriously consider NC State’s Bradley Chubb with their No. 2 pick to replace their long time DE. Don’t call it impossible. —————————————————
