The Academy of Holy Angels Junior Varsity Girls Hockey team has been hard at work since day 1 of their season. We are consistently impressed by these girls because they KNOW what their goal is: VARSITY AHA GIRLS HOCKEY. •
A well known tradition, and these young ladies have been putting in the work to be as much a part of it as they can. (They have fun doing it too, if you didn’t notice the 😁)They’ve got a long journey ahead as athletes on and off the ice, but it’s easy to say that the #etsfam is proud of them for as far as they’ve come thus far. You just read that just like when I first heard it...

One day out of pure Love, he invited me to try out running with his crew Coached by Legendary Mike Murray At Minoru, warming up with Tempo and Form around the Track at 70%...2x.

Suddenly it felt like my soul and Face wanted to detached from my body. Then I past out for 3 hours on grass field.

There's a Reason why these guys are Speed Gods. Till I met: Robert, Mike, Anthony, Philomena, Kyle, Peter, Yves and Coach Perry - I was focusing on training for the 40... While these guys Trained to Travel 10.1 Meters Per Second! You do the math...

What I'm saying is I passed out, but sometimes you must kinda Die to Rise as Absolute Athlete.

I have a Strong Idea now what Pure Speed is. And I do miss those days... 7 days a week, 3 X a Day Training, 363 days a year, X-mas and New Year off ...4 Years of that changed what I thought Pure Speed was and is!

Friday night leg night in the dungeon! I have been experimenting with sumo deadlifts by watching other great sumo deadlifters. I have found my own version to bring the quads into play as well. Even though this is only 315 my legs were exhausted from our new high volume training for squats and deadlifts before doing these! After the football season wrapped up, Dom was committed to maximizing this off-season and the numbers are showing. 3 months ago his max squat was 225lbs. Here are some reaction drills to boost up your skills!
🔹Quick feet to cross-over step towards same side of hand throwing the 🎾
🔹3 or 4 quick steps (depending on color that is called) to a lateral power step. (Idea taken from @tdouglas1)
• Progression: Get a running start.
🔹”Defensive” partner reacts off of “offensive” partner, trying to beat each other out to their designated cone.
🔹Box drop to quick cross-over step towards direction that medicine ball is thrown, catching and tossing ball back.
🔹Jump off box to mid-air medicine ball snap down to cross-over step towards direction that 🎾 is thrown.
🔹Sprint to cross-over step when 🏈 is thrown and catch. (May also be replaced with other ball depending on sport of athlete.)

Ankle Sprain Rehab

In the mid to late stages of ankle sprain rehab, jumping and landing can typically begin to be introduced. I believe it’s important to keep it pain free as I don’t want to over stress the joint. Stress management is a key to ankle sprain rehab as well. I make sure to gradually build up the tolerance to jumping and landing tasks as it does place more stress on the ankle.

Here are a few exercises I like to use for jumping, landing and continued strengthening when rehabbing an ankle sprain. In my opinion, regaining proprioceptive awareness is under emphasized in rehab and something I emphasize often. This is why you’ll notice a lot of these exercises focus on controlled landing.
1️⃣ Single leg landing with med ball slam - the med ball adds a dynamic component to the exercise and makes it more challenging.
2️⃣ Single leg forward jump - foundational neuromuscular control exercise I like to use. I want to see him exhibits good trunk, hip, knee and ankle control. What compensations do you see here?
3️⃣ Lateral bound - same as above
4️⃣ Slant board heel raises - continued strengthening is a must and adding a slant board increases range and makes it more challenging.

Prone t-spine extensions PAILs/RAILs

Yoga blocks/steps/ anything that is a few inches off the ground will work for elevating your arms

PAILs - try to break the box with your elbows while also flexing your core and irradiating the tissues in your back. Basically try to do an abdominal crunch. 8-10 sec

RAILs - keep feet/pelvis attached to the ground and reverse curl your t-spine. Lift off as high as you can. If the athlete is experienced w/this movement it can be progressed into spinal segmentation on lift off. 8-10 sec
