Heya sunshine boys and girls, it was lovely to go to the vegan festival today. It was a great opportunity to connect with other vegan and health enthusiasts!
There was an impressive variety of choices, which is unusual here, I’m often set with one or two things to choose from.
Highlights of my food adventure today was the vegan halloumi made from potato starch, fresh veg bowl topped with vegan seitan meat, soyo soy milk yoghurt with airpopped lentils and berries amongst other dishes.
There was a lot of colorful veggies and signs around, most of them including vegan promoting hashtags.
Another aspect that came into this festival is eco-friendly cups and bowls etc. I’m pretty happy with my purchase of silicon straws which I intend to use a lot. There were also a fair amount of people there who brought their own bowls to the event, which is great to see. As there’s an excess use of plastic here in Seoul, it feels refreshing to see a move away from the use of plastic and metals. The trash cans were also very well organized, with distinct bins for plastic, cans and waste. Korea is very militant about everyone recycling their recyclable items.
These events don’t happen very often here, there’s a vegan festival twice a year here, one in spring and one in fall.
