OH MY QUAD BECKY LOOK AT HER SQUAT!

I skipped the gym on Thursday and Friday because I felt like death. The meds I’m on for PCOS hit me like a freight train and I just wanted to sleep. I debated whether I would skip again today, but I wasn’t going to let myself skip 3 days in a row.

Back squat with my PR weight...135lbs. It was tough though...my wrists aren’t used to this anymore. Front squats with no plates...my wrists hate these even more.

Another week another PR :185 lbs x1(previous best 150lbs x 5). Excuse the profanity, was a bit pumped since I didn't expect to improve so much in a week. I learned from this lift that I need to press down on the bar more, you can see it wavering on the way up.
Thanks to @ibarelyworkout for his guidance on technique. He is so good at observing even the most minute detail. He had a valuable suggestion after every squat and it helped immensely on the proceeding squat.

First time touching anything over basically 50% since i competed May 18th.. not able to squat or deadlift yet, but this is nice to see. Really trying to get healthy before i start benching and deadlifting as well, aka nats prep 🤞🏻

Finally back at my favorite gym for squats. Decided that safety squats were in order. With a medical hindrance tried to do reps that wasn’t going to work so after 5 sets went to one and twos 215 to 275 increased every set by ten the bar being 65 lbs (there hard😂)

Discovered that the tightness I’ve been feeling recently in squats is due to tight hip flexors from sitting in a chair most of the day at work.
It’s hard to change up my activity level at work because I’m just coding for a large part of the day, so I’ll just have to adjust accordingly in the gym. Tried a new warmup routine for squats which definitely helped a lot. I also took my time with warmups, which I have a bad habit of not doing. Cause of time restrictions and how much of a wait there is for squat racks, I usually just rush through my warmup routine and try to get the next available rack.
Today I didn’t do that and had less time to do accessories, but my main lifts felt fantastic and I had almost no tightness. I’d rather focus on the quality of my reps and assure they are pain free instead of rushing through my workout to get a few extra accessories in.
Having no long term injuries that will effect me later in life is my #1 priority over anything else, so I’ll do whatever it takes to ensure that.
On another note, I started getting back into tennis and plan to play 3-4 times a week as my preferred form of cardio. Haven’t played much for like 3 years so it’ll be fun to start it up again.
