Happy Monday! I had such a fun time with this rainbow series. Who knows, maybe I’ll do another one some day.... In the meantime, it’s back to reality for me. Study break is official over and midterms are here
Happy Sunday! Have you ever had a book stick with you long after you read it? I read Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier last summer, and now I find myself wanting to reread it. I found it so atmospheric and beautifully written. This edition from @foliosociety is exceptional - I think it’s the most gorgeous book I own.
Happy Saturday! What’s your favourite book-to-movie adaption? One of my favourites is Brooklyn by Colm Tóibín. The film is stunning; the cinematography, pacing, and score suit the plot so well (not to mention Saoirse Ronan’s acting, which I love!). It’s one of the rare instances where I prefer the movie to the book. The film just brings the story to life.
Happy Friday! How are you doing with your reading goals for this year? Earlier this week, I finally finished Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone for the #harreadpotter readalong. It felt good to cross one thing off of my list! I hope to start reading the second book soon.
Happy Thursday! Do you read children’s classics? I really like the ones I’ve read, like Anne of Green Gables, The Wizard of Oz, and Heidi. I still have quite a few on my TBR, though, like The Wind in the Willows. I love this special edition from @foliosociety— it is so beautiful inside and out.
Happy Wednesday! Do you use a bookmark or fold down corners when you read? I admit, I do both... I fold down corners when I come across a quote that I like, but I use a bookmark to remember my place. This bookmark from @lexyolivia is one of my favourites — I love the quote and the colour scheme.
Happy Tuesday! What are you currently reading?
It feels great to finally be on study break, but then again, I still have a lot of homework to catch up on before school resumes next week. Today I’m almost done reading The Black Jacobins play by CLR James; after that, I’ll read The Waste Land by T. S. Eliot. At least I get to read!
I’ve been meaning to do a rainbow series on my feed for quite some time now... First up is pink, one of my favourite book colours that I don’t see nearly often enough. I also love the pink accents on this teapot. What’s your favourite book colour?
