This is important to me and I hear it is to other parents too. My kids don’t get pizza unless it has at least 3 vegetables on it. We chose chicken, black olives, broccoli, bell peppers and mushrooms. They ate it all. Why? They do not have a choice, it is what is given to them - no daiya cheese pizza without colors!! (belle picked the olives peppers and broccoli and Hope picked mushrooms and chicken) I eat it too. I don’t ask what they want to eat very often or their options are several healthy choices (sweet potatoes or cauliflower, carrots or broccoli, and yes, Brussels sprouts or asparagus!?) but first day off of school and they went everywhere from the gym to the doctor to a resort to buy gift cards to the office to swim lessons with me that day. They NEED vegetables and protein, we all do. They are so active that eating sugar and carbs only or too often would be a disaster.
