My favourite Thai food place has officially been replaced by @soi_38! I have tried many Thai places here in Edinburgh and been to Bangkok countless times, so believe me when I say @soi_38 serves some amazing dishes. Excellent service and food!
Curry: Gaeng kho subparod (red curry with beef and prawns, coconut milk, pineapples, basil)
Stir-fried: Pad cha talay (stir fried mix seafood with pepper, onion , bell peppers, peppercorn, basil)
Single-dish meal: Khaow moo krob (crispy pork belly with chinese leaves and hoisin, ground pepper)
Noodles: Pad thai with prawns
Side dish: Tofu tod (deep fried tofu with sweet chilli sauce, crushed peanuts)
The prawn to noodle ratio was perfect. I loved the generous amount of prawns - very nice. Although having been a loyal fan of Ting Thai this one has the edge. Now, the crispy pork belly rice probably was the winner, for me. If there is one thing they could improve on, it would be to reduce the gravy.
The red curry was creamy just how I like it. The combo with the pineapple was divine. The creamy sourness simply hits the spot. The stir-fried seafood is perfect for seafood lovers. The veggies were crunchy and if you love abit of a kick then this is the place to be. Lastly, the Tofu tod - crunchy af; a great fit with the sweet chilli sauce.
Very strategically located place too, perfect for students to drop by and have lunch! Many vegetarian options too!
