It's been rough, I'm not going to lie. Moving to D.C. has been one of the most isolating experiences of my life. And as anyone with depression and anxiety knows, severe isolation only amplifies those feelings.
There have been days where I've spoken less then a few words to people, and where I felt I couldn't reach out and call someone to tell them what was really going on. Because, once again anyone who suffers depression and anxiety knows, you don't want to feel like a burden.
But even on those days, I've walked by this amazing street art. And everyday I stop and just look at it.... Because it makes me feel better. Even if it is for a fleeting moment.
And I just want to shout out to all the artists out there. Because you just don't know who needs your art at that moment, or who it's going to impact.
But to the artist who created this beautiful piece in an unlikely place - thank you.
