Strength wasn't there today, I had planned 170 for a double but wasn't strong enough today and the Backdowns were meant to be triples. Probably gonna space out my heavy work for squats and deadlifts to manage some fatigue see if that helps

Since yesterday was my rest day I thought I’d touch on an important topic and how to use rest days to your advantage 🙌🏻

Why I eat exactly the same on rest days you might ask? 🤔
.
On rest days, it isn’t uncommon to here of people dramatically cutting their calories / avoiding carbs. But do these strategies actually help you in the long run? In reality, the body continues to make protein and repair worn down muscles for up to 48 hours after training! Not following proper recovery nutrition principles on rest days may actually hinder your strength and cause performance set backs.
Significantly reducing calories on rest days is a crucial mistake that athletes make. It isn’t uncommon to assume that you shouldn’t need as much fuel since you’re not exercising, but this can actually deter muscle protein synthesis that your body needs for increased strength and muscle mass or In other words, make sure you consume your usual amount of calories on rest days to ensure muscle growth and recovery!

So to conclude, yes I really do eat my giant bowl of oats every morning (even on rest days) 😉😋
